Out and About

Dereham is a most attractive town with a full range of facilities and amenities. There are many independent shops and several large supermarkets.

There is a golf course, cinema, and swimming pool. A busy traditional market day continues on Fridays and this is popular with people from a wide area.

Norwich is the capital city of East Anglia and a major tourist attraction. Shopping is second to none and the range of leisure and cultural activies that this city has to offer are enormous.

Swanton Morley is a large and well served rural Norfolk village, located in the centre of Norfolk. It has a notable history, with family connections with Abraham Lincoln, first president of the United States. The village has many features which contribute to its being an attractive environment for all age groups.

Local services are good.with a a well-stocked general stores, bakery, high-class butchers, delicatessen and popular public houses. There is a primary school and the modern village hall is a centre of social activity for numerous village clubs and organisations. The lovely parish church of All Saints is in a commanding position above the village bowling green.

The village is three miles north-east from the market town of Dereham, from where the main regular bus services run. The North Norfolk coast is a half hour's drive, and the unspoilt market towns of Holt, Fakenham and Swaffham make interesting excursions. Just outside the village is the main A47 road, which enables most of the county to be reached with ease and the city of Norwich is just 16 miles away.
